PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Police are searching for a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF), who is reported to have shot and killed a mother and her daughter at their home on Tuesday.
Police said that the incident occurred in Glencoe, west of here and that the suspect had recently been served with a court order to stay away from the house last year.
Police said that around 11 a.m. (local time) Carmilita De Leon, 66 and her daughter, Calida Schumber, 43, were at their Riverside Drive home in Shorelands, Glencoe when an estranged relative of Schumber shot both women at the house.
He then left the house and is currently at large.
Meanwhile, police are also probing the shooting death of dancehall artiste Kareem Small in Tobago on Monday.
The authorities said that another man identified only as “Kelon” was also shot and taken to the Scarborough General Hospital.
Small, 27, was shot dead by gunmen while liming with friends feet away from his home.
Last year, Trinidad and Tobago recorded 576 murders down from 605 the previous year.
