CMC – Police have arrested a Venezuelan national after they seized four AR rifles and a number of magazines in south Trinidad.
The police said that during an anti-crime exercise, officers stopped a vehicle driven by the 30-year-old Venezuelan and during a search of the vehicle found a white crocus bag with the four AR Rifles together with eleven magazines.
The statement said that the driver was arrested and investigations are continuing.
It said that the police also proceeded to a house in Claxton Bay, where several homes were searched.
“During the search, officers found and seized a quantity of marijuana at two homes. The drugs amounted to 175 grams. Two suspects were also arrested during the exercise and are expected to be charged for possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking,” the statement added.
