PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – A United States national wanted in his homeland on a series of criminal charges, including sexual exploitation of a minor, has been arrested in Trinidad and Tobago.
The United States Embassy said that federal agents representing the United States Marshal Service (USMS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), worked closely with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) in facilitating the arrest of Farzan Mohammed.
The Embassy said he was arrested on April 9 in Princes Town in south central Trinidad on a Provisional Arrest Warrant (PAW), “and will be held in custody as the extradition process is finalized for his eventual return to the United States to face justice for his alleged crimes”.
US Ambassador Candace Bond said the level of cooperation between US federal law enforcement agencies, the US Department of Justice, TTPS, and the Office of The Attorney General for Trinidad and Tobago, to arrest this fugitive was unprecedented.
