142 new COVID-19 positives identified

A total of 142 people, 70 males and 72 females, tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, March 24th, from the 844 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprise 26 people under the age of 18, and 116 who are 18 years and older.

There were 45 people in isolation facilities, while 881 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has carried out 606,962 tests since February 2020, and recorded 58,270 COVID-19 cases (27,006 males and 31,264 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of individuals with at least one dose is 160,890 (70.4 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated people is 150,816 (55.6 per cent of the total population or 66 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
