2 new companies granted medicinal cannabis licences

Amalgamated Security Services and Island Therapeutics Incorporated are the two newest companies to be granted medicinal cannabis licences in Barbados.

The security company has been granted a Transport Licence while the other business has been granted six licences, ranging from Cultivator to Exporter.

This brings to nine, the number of local businesses approved to date, to participate in the local industry with a combined 25 licences.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority, Senator Shanika Roberts-Odle, says holistically, Barbados’ entire medicinal cannabis ecosystem can now move towards creating job opportunities, and entrepreneurship.
