2 on $50,000 bail after court appearance for drug and money laundering charges

A man and a woman are both out on $50,000 bail after appearing in court on drug and money laundering charges.

Police say 30 year old Milisa Atrica Leola Browne alias “Dubaii Mili”, of #45, Apartment #1, 5th Avenue, Callenders Crescent, Christ Church and 31 year old Andre Xavier Leacock alias “FLY”, of Combermere Street, Nelson Street, St. Michael both appeared in the District “B” Magistrates Court before Magistrate Deidre McKenna.

They were charged with Possession, Trafficking and Possession with Intent to Supply Cannabis.

In addition, Police say Browne and Leacock were charged with Money Laundering in the sum of $79,514.05 as well as US $14,997, and Unlawful Retention of the said foreign currency.

Police say the pair was not required to plead to the offences, which are all indictable.

Upon receipt of bail they are now required to report to Oistins every Wednesday before noon.

Browne and Leacock are both scheduled to reappear at the District “B” Magistrates Oistins Court on June 14th.

Police officers from the Suppressing Criminal Activity Targeting Society (SCATS) Unit and the Financial Crimes Investigation Unit say Browne and Leacock were arrested and charged after they executed a search at a residence at Callenders Crescent, Christ Church and discovered the cannabis along with the mentioned sums of money.
