The 2021 Caribbean Premier League begins today in St. Kitts and Nevis, and all matches will be aired on CBC TV8.
The opening fixture is between defending champs Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors.
The current political situation in Afghanistan with the Taliban taking over control of the country, will affect this fixture. An Afghan player who had signed with Guyana Amazon Warriors, won’t be making it to St. Kitts for the tournament.
With the Warriors seen as the best team never to have won the CPL, they are hoping 2021 will be the year to get that proverbial monkey off their back.
In eight seasons, the Guyana-based franchise has made the playoffs each year, and were the losing finalists five of those times.
The Warriors versus Knight Riders opening fixture began at 10:00 a.m. but will be aired tape-delayed on TV8 from 3:00 p.m.
