Recruitment of police officers remains one of the main issues plaguing the Barbados Police Service.
That’s according to Attorney General Dale Marshall.
With 278 vacancies within the service, the AG says this reality has brought into question the Force’s ability to meet the needs of Barbadian society.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Richard Boyce this deficit was exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
However Commissioner Boyce noted the recruitment challenge is mostly linked to individuals not meeting the criteria.
