4 schools closed due to fire

Four St. George schools have been closed today.

In a release, the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training (METVT) advises this is due to smoke emanating from a large fire in the environs of St. Philip.

The schools which have been closed are St. George Secondary, St. George Primary, Ellerton Primary and Workman’s Primary.

The Ministry says classes at these schools are expected to resume on Monday, March 20, following assessments by environmental health officials.

The METVT regrets any inconvenience that the closures may cause.
