Five Barbadians are the recipients of this year’s Errol and Nita Barrow Educational Trust Awards.
Aisha Trimmingham, Jaliyah Rock, Mary Inniss, Shamelle Rice and Torian Bailey were selected from a pool of 70 other applicants.
Trustee Dr. Jeannine Comma gave some insight into the rigorous selection process.
One of the recipients, Shamelle Rice, thanked the Trust for the opportunity to pursue a Master’s Degree.
Rice, who operates Jabez House, a registered charity that assists female sex workers in leaving the trade and empower themselves, intends to continue helping others.
