The two men charged for the theft of sweet potatoes worth $6, 320 from Applewhaites Plantation in Applewhaites, St George, pleaded not guilty when they appeared in Court today.

32-year-old, Rico Omar Drayton of Turton’s Gap, Government Hill, St Michael and 26-year-old Trevon Orlando Farley of Seales Land Government Hill, St Michael, were remanded to Dodds Prison when they appeared in the District B Magistrates court.

The men were arrested for five counts of Theft of Sweet Potatoes. Police said that the offences occurred between January 29th and March 1st 2022. The total value of the produce stolen is $6320.00 and none of the produce was recovered.

They are scheduled to reappear in the same court on Wednesday 6 April 2022.
