With the countdown on to Crop Over 2022, bandleaders say they’re running out of time to make critical decisions to make Grand Kadooment, and by extension the sweetest summer festival a success.
Leader of Krave the Band, Avery Hackett speaking exclusively to the Morning Report, is calling on the National Cultural Foundation to provide more details on its plans to execute the festival.
He says as it stands, the lack of clarity is making it difficult for stakeholders to market or sell the festival to the world.
The Krave bandleader is also concerned about the impact COVID-19 protocols could have on the band’s operations on Kadooment Day.
He prefers that patrons be either vaccinated or tested 24 hours before the event, not both as is the current requirement.
