Barbadian ophthalmologist, Dr. Kim Jebodhsingh, has been awarded the Anthony N. Sabga Award for Public and Civic Contributions.
The announcement was made by Programme Director of the Awards, Maria Superville-Neilson during a ceremony yesterday.
According to the citation read during the ceremony, the oculoplastic surgeon uses her skills to improve healthcare outcomes and bring about meaningful change locally and regionally.
Dr. Jebodhsingh shares the award for Public and Civic Contributions with Anushka Sonai, a digital entrepreneur from Suriname.
They will split a monetary prize of 500,000 TT dollars.
Awardees will also receive a medal and citation during ceremonies held in their respective countries.
