Although Barbadians say they generally feel safe in their communities, more of them are fearful of being shot than being robbed and more are installing security systems at their homes.
These are some of the findings of the public opinion survey on crime, which were released today during a webinar, by the Criminal Justice Research and Planning Unit.
Presenting the data, Criminologist Kim Ramsay explained 1232 people participated in the study, which was conducted between October 2020 and February 2021 via telephone.
Participants shared their perceptions of the Barbados Police Service and the measures they’ve been using to protect themselves.
