Barbados representatives, Chadé Smith and Samuel Boston did not disappoint at the ongoing 11th Commonwealth youth parliament, as they added their voice to debate during its third sitting in Trinidad and Tobago.
The parliamentarians represented a fictional republic – a five island country with a population of one million.
Mr. Boston, as an opposition member, focused on several topics including education and youth.
Smith was a deputy minister of labour in the fictional government.
The week-long Commonwealth Youth Parliament provides a key development opportunity for young people from the Commonwealth with ambitions of public office.
It is designed to demonstrate to potential young parliamentarians, the fundamentals of the processes of parliament.
