Barbados has cautioned against the use of technology to exploit or abuse people, particularly women and girls.
The position was stressed as the island reaffirmed its commitment, before the United Nations, to advocating for the use of technology for all.
Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey told the 67th Commission on the Status of Women, when technology is weaponised, it impacts and hurts many.
He also updated the session on the strides made by women in Barbados and highlighted challenges facing the Caribbean in relation to technology to the forum.
Minister Humphrey says the challenges are impacting the region and small island developing states.
