Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley views Barbados’ geographical location as ideal as Government moves closer to establishing a free zone on the island.
The term free zone is used to designate areas in which companies are taxed very lightly or not at all to encourage economic activity.
Ms. Mottley, who led Barbados’ delegation in a meeting with key leaders of the Dubai Free Zone, says the island is learning from Dubai.
She says a draft bill for the free zone is being reviewed.
