The first batch of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for children 12 years and under has arrived in Barbados.
The shipment, a donation from the British government, arrived at the Grantley Adams International Airport this afternoon.
On hand for the delivery were Minister of Health and Wellness Ian Gooding-Edghill and British High Commissioner Scott Furssedonn-Wood, along with other officials.
Minister Gooding-Edghill says children in Barbados will be vaccinated from Tuesday and training for nurses will begin immediately.
Meanwhile, the British High Commissioner says his country’s government is pleased to be of assistance to Barbados in the fight against the pandemic.
