Barbados stands to benefit as the European Union expands its climate related programme for Latin America and the Caribbean, Euroclima.
The expansion of the flagship programme on environmental sustainability and climate change comes after a decade of successful implementation in Latin America.
It was launched locally at the Walker’s Reserve in St. Andrew.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight says small island developing states (SIDS) need partners who can speak out.
She lauded the EU for its work in assisting islands like Barbados.
Head of the EU delegation to Barbados, Ambassador Malgorzata Wasilewska revealed a lot of work was undertaken to get the project going in the Caribbean.
During the launch, she shared how it has worked for countries in Latin America.
