Barbados and some members of the international community have been successful in getting Venezuela’s Government and opposition to sign a partial agreement.
This pact will pave the way for a smoother electoral and political process, a requirement for lifting sanctions now impacting that country’s economy.
The other countries which helped broker the deal include Mexico, Norway and Russia.
Acting Foreign Minister Jerome Walcott says the conclusion of these negotiations has major significance for the people of Venezuela but also for all Caribbean states.
