The United States Command and Drill Staff College has inducted the Chief of Staff of the Barbados Defence Force into its International Hall of Fame – a first for Barbados.
The ceremony, which came off yesterday, celebrated Commodore Errington Shurland for attaining the highest position in leadership of land forces in his country.
The Commodore, who also commands the Regional Security System, is among some 8500 international military graduates from 167 countries.
Commodore Shurland, in his acceptance speech, says his time spent at the Ccollege was at a tough time, but described the course of study as the most significant and impactful programme he has undertaken in his military career.
