It’s believed a behaviour change model could be the answer to the slowdown in COVID-19 vaccinations and the stigma surrounding the virus.
The Caribbean Association of Behaviour Change Specialists has been created to address issues in this regard.
Founder and President, Cecelia Neblett-Brathwaite says the mission is to create targeted messaging for individual groupings.
Neblett-Brathwaite’s comments also come on the heels of reports that COVID-positive individuals in home isolation are being forced out of their homes by relatives in some cases, which speaks to COVID-19 stigma and discrimination.
She believes the stigma and fear are the result of information overload.
