BFS community outreach

There’s growing concern about the increasing number of abandoned and derelict structures which have been targets for fires in recent times.

This from Station Officer at the Barbados Fire Service Bridgetown Headquarters Roger Bourne.

He says they have sought meetings with the relevant state agencies to see what could be done in addressing the situation.

Station Officer Bourne made the remarks as members of the Barbados Fire Service visited the community of Brittons Hill in St. Michael dispensing smoke alarms to a number of homeowners deemed most vulnerable within that community.

Station Officer Bourne noted the activity was just a part of their community outreach Fire Prevention Campaign.
