For months, many Barbadians have been asking how we will be commemorating Barbados’ transition to Republic status while celebrating our 55th year of Independence.
Their questions were answered this evening during a media briefing when Minister of Innovation, Science and Smart Technology, Senator Kay McConney, revealed a variety of exciting safe zone and inclusive events.
Parliamentary Debates on the Barbados Charter will get the activities started on November 23rd and 24th.
One of the biggest events will be the official opening of Golden Square on Saturday, November 27th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The celebrations will culminate with the ceremony of the Installation of the President of Barbados, which will take place on November 29th starting at 11:00 p.m.
