A political analyst does not see any sinister motive in the news Minister of Health and Wellness, Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic will not be contesting the next general election.
In fact, Peter Wickham says the matter was an open secret within the Barbados Labour Party.
Mr. Bostic, the MP for the City of Bridgetown reportedly broke the news to his branch last evening.
Minister Bostic says he has given many years of service to his country, both in the military and in the political arena.
He told branch members he needed to spend more time with his family.
Mr. Wickham says the decision was not surprising.
Mr. Wickham says of interest is how the Democratic Labour Party will react with its placement of its candidate for the City of Bridgetown.
