The Barbados Road Safety Association is concerned about the number of road fatalities recorded this year.
In his Christmas message, Police Commissioner Richard Boyce revealed there had been 17 fatalities for 2023, compared to 8 for 2022.
President of the Road Safety Association Roland Lowe says it’s a worrying trend.
In the absence of concrete evidence on how much drunk driving contributes to the number of accidents, Mr. Lowe is reiterating the association’s call for the introduction of breathalyser testing.
