On this International Women’s Day, the Barbados Workers Union is renewing the call across the globe for a gender equal world that is free from prejudice and discrimination and is diverse, equitable and inclusive.
Despite debate after debate and demonstration after demonstration year after year, General Secretary of the BWU Toni Moore in a statement notes the reality of a gender equal world remains a mere dream for millions of women.
According to the BWU boss, this is particularly and regrettably evident in the global workforce.
She adds before there can be any real change, countries must acknowledge the pay gap is real and stop making excuses to defend it.
