Barbados used a high-level meeting to press for a new international special tribunal to seek reparations for transatlantic slavery and its legacies.
Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong says no international court is properly equipped and such a special tribunal is required.
He was at the time addressing the third forum of the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent at the United Nations.
He says it will adjudicate reparations claims.
Ambassador Comissiong has made it clear the global reparations movement is here to stay.
He adds reparations for Caribbean countries are not solely about a money payment.
