Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne has suggested that the appeal process for businesses found in contravention of the Labour Clauses Act, needs to be relooked.
He contended that appeals relative to labour matters should be made to the High Court.
However, Labour Minister Colin Jordan explained that the removal of concessions are settled at the Appeals Tribunal because it is a revenue matter.
In further response to concern that the legislation does not protect workers’ rights, Minister Jordan cited the reasons why the concessions would be revoked.
