Foreign Ministers from CARICOM, including Barbados’ Minister Kerrie Symmonds have met with their Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Guyana, in another step towards strengthening relations.
The ministers engaged in discussions during the 4th CARICOM-India Ministerial Meeting held at the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown.
During the bilateral meetings, the Indian Minister touched upon various issues including expanding cooperation, trade, climate change, digital transformation, health domains, agriculture, and the International Solar Alliance.
He also held separate meetings with several of the CARICOM Foreign Ministers.
During his meeting with Barbados’ Minister, the two discussed the domains of renewable energy, health and skills.
Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Panama next in the coming days.
