Reducing the region’s food import bill and food security are the pressing issues on the agenda for CARICOM heads as they meet in Guyana for the Inaugural Regional Agri-Investment Forum and Expo.

The event is geared toward making meaningful progress in their efforts to reduce the region’s high import bill and produce more of what is consumed.

Talks at the three-day forum will be a continuation of discussions that began in March at the 33rd Inter-sessional Conference in Belize.

Our Krystal Hoyte is in Guyana and filed this report.
