The skills and talents of Barbadians were on show as the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus highlighted African culture.
The event, an African Awareness Fashion Show brought together staff, students and participants from tertiary and other institutions to showcase a variety of African outfits, hairstyles, and jewellery.
Coordinator Teresacita Cox is optimistic through the event students will be empowered.
Despite being scaled down, support from the Sandy Lane Charitable Trust enabled the event to be staged.
