Parliamentarians have been debating changes to the Central Bank of Barbados (Amendment) Bill.
Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Ryan Straughn says they will strengthen the Central Bank’s mandate to make better provision for governance.
Apart from ensuring more cooperation between a Governor and Deputy Governor, the amendment also makes provision for another Deputy Governor to be appointed.
That means the Bank will now have three Deputy Governors instead of two.
