Two pieces of legislation – the new Child Protection Bill, and Child Justice Bill – are coming soon.
This from Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley as she spoke at the official opening of three new buildings at the Nightengale’s Children’s Home located in Black Rock, St. Michael and the unveiling of three plaques.
The buildings, the Crawford Contact Family Centre, Auntie Brewer’s Early Years Centre, and Shelly’s Cottage were named in honour of a former resident along with two officials who contributed to the development of the Home.
They were refurbished and furnished by the Barbados Children’s Trust, in partnership with the Child Care Board, and the Ministry of People Empowerment.
