Children’s Party comes off at Botanical Gardens

January 14, 2023

Hundreds of children from the St. Michael North East and St. Michael Central constituencies got a special treat this afternoon, when their annual children’s parties were held jointly at the National Botanical Gardens.

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley is the MP for St. Michael North East and Speaker of the House Arthur Holder is the MP for St. Michael Central, and they both greeted the children and their parents at the festive event, which was held for the first time at the Botanical Gardens.

There was face painting, along with jumping tents, pony rides, balloon toys, and plenty to choose from to eat and drink for the children, who took advantage of the wide open space to also engage in football, running and other activities.

Prime Minister Mottley says it was good to be able to give the people an opportunity to enjoy themselves in a relaxed and safe environment, after having to deal with the rigours associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaker Arthur Holder echoed the Prime Minister’s comments, as Ms. Mottley expanded on the significance of the space at Botanical Gardens in the lives of Barbadians.
