Barbados is being told it may be necessary to relook the first-past-the-post election system.
This is the view of former Government Minister His Excellency Noel Lynch.
He made the comment during the Parliamentary Reform Commission’s Special Diaspora Zoom-Hall Meeting, noting he was making the suggestion in a personal capacity.
Mr. Lynch also believes the number of seats in the Lower House should be increased to better ensure representation of the people, while the role of the Senate needs to be reviewed.
He says a unicameral instead of a bicameral system of government should be considered.
