Leader of Government Business in the Senate Senator Lisa Cummins is making it abundantly clear that consultants are not paid from the public’s purse.
Leading off the debate on the Appropriation Bill, 2024, the Minister of Energy and Business Development said consultants hired to advise Government on special projects are on secondment and are being paid by regional and international financial institutions.
