COVID-19 outbreak at Geriatric Hospital

A COVID-19 outbreak at the Geriatric Hospital, Beckles Road, St. Michael has resulted in the temporary suspension of visits to Ward 6B.

In a BGIS release, the Ministry of Health and Wellness revealed that four patients have tested positive for the virus, between Monday, May 29 and today, Tuesday, June 6.

The Ministry says it is closely monitoring the situation and measures have been put in place to control the spread of COVID-19 in the hospital.

Members of the public will be advised when visits will resume on Ward 6B, and the Ministry of Health says any inconvenience caused to family members and friends is deeply regretted.
