An environmentalist, who is doing her PHD at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, recognises the important tradition of crabbing in Barbados, but is also concerned about the lack of research data about the population size of the crabs that are caught every year.
Speaking during an interview with CBC News on location at the recent annual crabbing night in St. Andrew, Nadeshinie Parasram said a census of the crabs would be a good place to start.
