The Crop Over Folk Concert, scheduled for today, has been postponed.
However, the public is asked to note that the annual commemoration ceremony to mark the National Day of Significance will continue today at 6:00 p.m. at the Golden Square Freedom Park, with speeches and performances from Dr. The Most Honourable Anthony ‘Gabby’ Carter, the Israel Lovell Foundation and UWI Dance Ensemble.
In a release, the National Cultural Foundation says that due to the inclement weather over the past few days, the cast of the Crop Over Folk Concert was unable to have full rehearsals in the Golden Square Freedom Park space.
As a result, the concert has been postponed to Monday, July 31, a public holiday, at 6:00 p.m. at the National Botanical Gardens.
The NCF says it will form part of Barbados’ celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of CARICOM.
