Minister of Tourism and International Transport Senator Lisa Cummins has reassured the country that the situation is completely under control, as it relates to the COVID-19 outbreak aboard a cruise ship docked at the Bridgetown Port.
About 40 passengers on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Explorer of the Seas have contracted the virus.
When CBC News reached out to her for a comment, she said the response mechanisms to deal with these matters are now far more advanced than they were at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Cummins added that the Barbados Government maintains a caring approach to these situations.
