Verla De Peiza is no longer President of the Democratic Labour Party.
The top brass of the DLP spent the better part of the Errol Barrow Holiday at the Party’s George Street Auditorium Headquarters in a special meeting to review the results of Wednesday’s general election.
During that session, the party’s General Secretary Dr. Derek Alleyne read the letter of resignation from Ms. De Peiza.
The DLP has decided to convene a special conference in mid-April to elect a new President, but until then, First Vice President and former government minister Steve Blackett will assume leadership of the party.
