Dignity kits donated to less fortunate students

December 19, 2023

The Graydon Sealy Secondary School continues to come to the assistance of its less fortunate students.

Principal June Shyrelle Howard-Gittens, made the disclosure as the school was presented with 150 dignity kits by the United Nations.

The boxes contain toilet paper, soap, sanitary napkins, deodorant, and non-perishable food items.

Ms. Howard-Gittens says the school created what it calls a ‘Pantry Project’ when face-to-face classes resumed following the COVID-19 pandemic to assist students who were struggling.

She notes the project is ongoing as some students still need help.

Acting UN Resident Coordinator for Barbados and the OECS Tonni-Ann Brodber, says it’s important for the United Nations to be a part of the communities it serves.
