As part of its 60th anniversary celebrations, the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation is partnering with the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training for a special programme designed for primary and secondary school students interested in poetry and public speaking.
This was revealed during the launch of ‘Pontifications and Poetry’ at the Ministry’s headquarters.
Education Officer Gloria Haynes, who conceptualised the competition, provided details.
CBC is a platinum sponsor of the competition and Head of Archives and Information Sherwood McCaskie, spoke of CBC’s continued commitment to nation building.
Station Manager of Starcom Network Anthony Greene pledged the station’s commitment to the Ministry’s effort.
The Insurance Corporation of Barbados and the Barbados Public Workers Cooperative Credit Union are two major sponsors of the competition.
