A local educator wants special training for primary and secondary school teachers to manage the differences between boys and girls in a co-education system.
He’s former Senator Alwyn Adams, who also taught at the St. Leonards Boys School.
According to him, girls mature faster and attention needs to be paid to the boys to ensure equal development outcomes.
Speaking on CBC’s Let’s Talk About It radio programme Mr. Adams also suggested some single-sex schools are needed for boys to ensure they excel.
Mr. Adams also believes it should be mandatory for people benefitting from free university education to contribute financially to help with students now passing through the system.
