Expanded space at A&E Department

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has confirmed the opening of additional space in its Accident and Emergency Department.

In a statement, the Hospital notes it is just one step in a larger effort to address the evolving needs of the population.

Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Neil Clark, has emphasised the QEH’s commitment to collaborating with partners and patients to optimise patient care and ensure individuals receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

With the opening of the expanded A&E, the original entrance to the Department has been reopened, while the temporary entrance in the ambulance yard has been closed.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is proud to announce the opening of additional space within its Accident and Emergency Department (AED), marking an important milestone in our ongoing journey to enhance healthcare services for our community. As we expand our capacity to better serve patients, we recognize that this is just one step in a larger effort to address the evolving needs of the population.

Also of note, the original entrance to the department has been reopened. The temporary entrance in the Ambulance Yard is now closed and reverts to normal operations. Our security team and Patient Relations representatives will be on hand assist patients and visitors coming to the AED.
