Several needy families in the St. Thomas and St. Joseph areas are to receive much needed assistance from an overseas-based group this weekend.
The help comes in the form of food and other products as well as school supplies, just in time for back to school.
The Salvation and Praise Tabernacle of North Carolina will be donating approximately 250 food hampers and school items to residents in the two parishes. They are working with the Faith Emmanuel Pentecost Church, in Bloomsbury, St. Thomas to distribute them today.
Barbadian David Watts, the Pastor of the US-based church, says he’s always had a dream of returning to give back to the community.
Pastor Anderson Maynard of Faith Emmanuel Pentecost Church says the assistance is welcomed.
