The escalating cost of higher education is proving to be a hurdle for many aspiring Barbadians.
However, Principal and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies, Professor Clive Landis, says the support from private donors and corporate sponsorship has been a game-changer.
He says the support not only benefits the recipients who are able to pursue their academic goals and dreams but also businesses and society at large.
While expressing thanks to all donors, Professor Landis says the exceptional and deserving students embody the hard work, creativity and thirst for knowledge that exemplify the pursuit of excellence.
He urged those in attendance at the 2024 Student Awards Reception who are on the receiving end to pay it forward.
