The media reports and accusations about abuse have left two former wards of the Girls Industrial School in disbelief, as they say the staff never hit them and may in fact have been afraid of them when they started to act up.
They reached out to CBC’s Wendy Burke to discuss some of the things which they found upsetting in this two-part series. They tell us chief on the list is the disclosure of the wards information as they are minors in the custody of the state.
