Frederick Smith Update: Rape accused heading to court

A  29-year-old man will appear in court today, to face four charges for events at the Frederick Smith Secondary School, which shocked the nation.

The Criminal Investigations Department in the Northern and Bridgetown Divisions have arrested and formally charged Jamel Lorenzo Hunte, of Watermans Terrace, Green Hill, St. Michael for several offences.

These are: 

•Rape of a Minor – 5th June 2023 

•Rape of a Minor  – 15th June 2023 

•Indecent Exposure – 15th June 2023 whilst on Folkestone Road, St James

•Trespass – The Frederick Smith Secondary School, Trents, St. James

He is scheduled to appear before the Acting Chief Magistrate, Graveney Bannister at The David Simmons and Henry Forde Complex, today, Monday, June 26, 2023.
